Where is parking, and how do I find the classroom?
Paid parking is available at Parking Structure 7 and Parking Structure 6 near the Extended Studies Center. Classes are held at SDSU’s Extended Studies Center, 5701 Hardy Ave, San Diego, CA 92115. Directions and room details are included in your confirmation email!
Is First Aid & CPR the same as BLS?
No. CPR and First Aid courses are intended for normal people! For those sticking needles in people for a living (or involved in the process thereof), please direct your attention towards our BLS registration page.
Can I get this class for free?
No. Ask us nicely and we may give you a discount. If you are a first responder, student, or veteran/active military, please email contact@samaritansafety.com for your discount code.
How much does CPR Certification cost in San Diego

How long are classes?
It is dependent on the class you are taking. If you are taking Adult + Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, the full in-person skills session is about 1.5 hours. If you are choosing to only take Adult CPR certification, you will complete your training in about 45 minutes – 1 hour. Please review your class ticket for more information.
Is this certification accepted by employers?
Yes. American Red Cross and AHA courses follow the same ILCOR guidelines, and Red Cross certification satisfies OSHA and California childcare licensing requirements. Some employers name a preferred provider, so check with yours first.
Do you offer CPR renewal or recertification in San Diego?
Yes. Our Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED class is the same whether you are certifying for the first time or renewing. Red Cross certification is valid for 2 years, so book any upcoming class before yours expires and your new certificate arrives within 24 hours.
Does the class cover infant and child CPR?

Is online CPR certification accepted in California?
Usually not. Employers, licensing agencies and OSHA expect a certification that includes an in-person skills check, and most of them reject online-only cards. Our class is taught in person at SDSU, so your Red Cross certificate is accepted.
How fast can I get CPR certified in San Diego?
In one visit. Book an open class, finish the hands-on session in about 1.5 hours, and your digital Red Cross certificate is emailed within 24 hours. We never charge a rush fee.

In partnership with San Diego State University, Samaritan Safety Training hosts classes at the Extended Studies Center. Parking is available nearby at SDSU’s Parking Structure 7 and Parking Structure 6.

The Extended Studies Center is at 5701 Hardy Ave in the College Area, just off Interstate 8 at College Avenue, and the SDSU Transit Center on the trolley Green Line is next to campus. Room directions come with your confirmation email. Most students drive in from La Mesa, Rolando, Lemon Grove, Santee, El Cajon, North Park, Mission Valley and Downtown San Diego in 10 to 20 minutes. If a group of six or more would rather not travel, we bring the class to you anywhere in San Diego County with no travel fee.
